What’s a 3D Printer?
A 3D Printer fuses plastic in the form of filament and deposits it on a bed layer by layer until it forms a 3D object. Lately the industry has been disrupted by open source, cheap and DIY models that have made digital manufacturing available to the general population. It’s even been made easy and fun!
What can you make with it?
The variety of things you can make with it are endless ! Parts made with low-end printers are not very strong and won’t be suitable for certain applications, but if they are well designed and used for non mechanically demanding applications they are a great alternative.
What do you need to work with it?
- Plastic filament
- Electricity
How can you get a 3D Printer?
- If you want to buy one, we recommend you do your research as there are many in the market. You can start by looking at 3DHubs, where they review many printers. A very popular brand that we have had a good experience with is Prusa, so we’d recommend it.
- You can rent one from us: PLEASE ENQUIRE . Dependant on length of rental and distance from our workshop in Gatwick, Surrey.
